This tool looked really cool, but when I tested it the server didn’t go into maintenance mode. Any tricks?
What OS did it not work on? It works for me on 2003 and 2008.
Glad someone likes the utility. I have it working on Windows 2003-2012. you need ot have the Management Pack and wait for it to get pushed down to the clients for it to work correctly. I am working on a new version, still working the bugs out in Studio 2012.
Mike – per the SCC post – I’d also love to have a version that can be deployed via SCCM MSI. We tried scripting it but its a mess since the app accesses the registry on 32/64bit servers. Imagine your tool on my 2000 servers! Immortality achieved! You can do it buddy! :)
For win 2008 and up you either need to right click and run as admin or change the shortcut to run in admin mode.
Hello Mike,
this tool is exactly, what I need. Does it work with Operations Manager 2012?
Even when I run it as admin the server doesn’t go into maintenance mode. I run it on 2008 R2.
What am I missing?
